MSC Avoids the Persian Gulf Route

Attention Shippers!

Following the seizure of MSC ARIES by Iranian forces

container giant MSC has decided to shift its Israel-linked containerships from the Persian Gulf to other routes.

14,272 TEU MSC JEWEL and 14,952 TEU MSC ORION are the two major vessels currently being diverted.

Currently, MSC JEWEL is proceeding to JAWAHARLAL NEHRU PORT, India and is expected to arrive there by Monday. Once it arrives at the JAWAHARLAL NEHRU PORT, from there it will be further redeployed to the transpacific Sentosa Shikra lane.

MSC ORION will unload cargo at Oman’s SALALAH port on Sunday and skip its stop in Abu Dhabi next Tuesday. Its next route hasn’t been confirmed yet. MSC containerships namely, MSC BERANGERE, MSC DARIA, MSC CALYPSO and MSC AUDREY on the Far East-Middle East Falcon service shall also be redirected from their regular route.
